Composting Pilot comes to the MCZ Labs!

We are excited to announce that we recently rolled out a composting pilot program in the MCZ Labs building! Working with the FAS Green Labs Program, OEB Administration, the OEB Building Operations Team, and Custodial Services we were able to expand the pilot program that began in the BioLabs and Hoffman Labs. We anticipate a successful program that we will be able to rollout to other OEB-managed buildings in the future. A special shout out and thanks to the Hoekstra Lab for being the catalyst for bringing the pilot to the MCZ Labs building!

TerraCycle comes to OEB!

OEB community members can now deposit many kinds of waste in collection bins located outside the MCZ Mailroom, the first floor of MCZ Labs, and the HUH Mailroom!

Greenie of the Month

Danielle Hanrahan

Danielle is one of our newer team members. She took on the task of reducing paper towel waste in OEB restrooms by placing reminder stickers on dispensers that paper towels come from trees! Thanks, Danielle!

Green Your Lab

The FAS Green Lab Certification program is a customized approach to identifying and addressing opportunities for waste and energy reduction in labs across campus. The collaborative process involves working with lab members to identify sustainability opportunities within their spaces, and sharing best practices related to energy efficiency, water reduction, lab material recycling, purchasing, and toxic waste reduction and prevention. By implementing simple and effective changes, the process often leads to a more efficient workflow and organized space.
