Sometimes even biology professors get caught up in science fiction. But this gig is a little bit different. In Beast Legends, a new 6-part series produced by Yap Films in Toronto and premiering on the Syfy channel September 9, Scott and three other "Beast Hunters" scour the animal world to find clues allowing them to reconstruct mythological beasts using high-tech computer generated imagery (CGI). Today we know that the beasts aren't real - but past cultures from Europe to Fiji to the American Southwest believed and often feared them with dread. We're talking about griffins, wildmen like Yeti, dragons and terror birds, all the stuff of real myth and legends. This show brings to light the amazing biology of animals on the globe today, and shows how it is relevant for understanding - and recreating - these mythological beasts. Check it out!
