Sharon Birks

Dr. Sharon Birks, currently Manager of Genetic Resources in the Zoology Division of the Burke Museum, was an Alfred P. Sloan Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab from 1995-1997. While she worked on molecular evolution and phylogenetic relationships of megapodes, fascinating chicken-like birds from Australasia that incubate their eggs in mounds of rotting debris or via geothermal sources such as are found in volcanic areas.
