Areas of expertise: Butterfly sequencing, especially lycaenids. Greenhouse maintenance, including taking care of plants that caterpillars eat, raising Jalmenus evagoras (lycaenid) caterpillars, and feeding ants. Phylogenetics of Miletines (lycaenid butterflies), Cyamids (Amphipoda: Cyamus) and Katydids (Tettigonidae). Using 15N and 13C stable isotope studies to elucidate butterfly life-histories.

Area of interest: Evolution of parasitism and trophic level shifts.

Fellowships

2008 Putnam Expedition Grant: Diversification of Chrysoritis and Thestor butterflies

2007 Putnam Expedition Grant: Species Interactions and Diversification of Thestor butterflies and Anoplolepis custodiens ants

2005 (Stipend started Sept 2006) NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program Award

2004-2006 Genetics Training Grant
