Marine Invertebrate Life History and Reproduction

Larvae

Our laboratory focuses on aspects of marine invertebrate life history such as synchronization of reproductive events and ecology and physiology of larvae. Additionally we are incorporating molecular ecology to further understand the impacts of life history on invertebrate evolution. Topics of particular interest include larval dispersal and population connectivity, as well as human impacts on the distribution of marine organisms.

Current research examines groups such as cnidarians, bryozoans and sponges in both tropical and temperate environments. Both field and lab work are conducted in Cambridge and at various satellite locations, particularly in the Pacific and western Atlantic.
