OEB Sponsored Research

FAS policies require that all sponsored research proposals be reviewed and approved by the PI's department, the FAS Dean, and the Office for Sponsored Research at Central Administration before submission to any federal or private sponsor. OEB administration assists its researchers in shepherding their proposals through this process. Please follow these general guidelines at the outset of proposal development:

1) Contact Margaret Carayannopoulos, Financial Officer, (5-2787) to review your budget and budget justification. The budget review will include having Mary Reynolds (5-0813) from OEB Personnel check that salaries and job classes are correct.

2) When the proposal is in final - or nearly final - form, bring a hard copy along with the program guidelines to Pam Greene (5-2305) or Katie Parodi (5-5891). Pam and Katie will check the proposal for conformance to program requirements and Harvard policies.

3) The final proposal should be submitted for review at least 5 business days before the actual due date. OEB manages departmental approval and FAS approval, and then it secures the approvals necessary from Harvard's Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP). Please see the Harvard University Office for Sponsored Programs for more information on Harvard's policies on sponsored research.
