Teaching

OEB has a requirement of 2 semesters of teaching experience for graduation. This is typically done in the second and fourth years, one semester each year. Teaching in the first year is not allowed. Teaching more than 2 semesters during years 1 to 4 can be done depending on the department's need for teaching fellows. After year departmental funding comes in the form of teaching fellowships so unless a student has external funding sources, he/she will be required to teach both in the fall and spring semesters.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences has many teaching resources for graduate students, including some printed information that will be mailed to you at the beginning of your teaching assignment.

The Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning
Provides a multitude of services to aid and improve the teaching experience, including workshops and individual consultations.

Dudley House
The graduate student house offers a lounge where TF's can hold office hours.

Harvard International Office
Offers help for TF's who don't have English as a native language.

Office of the Registrar
This office administers registration, course enrollment, final exams, classroom assignments, publishes the course catalog and student handbooks and services for students with disabilities. The office also offers publications for GSAS instructors.
