George Lauder awarded Star-Friedman Challenge

Congratulations to George Lauder awarded the Star-Friedman Challenge in collaboration with Jessica Whited (Assistant Professor, Harvard Stem Cell Institute) for their project, "How to regenerate a limb? Integrating analysis of metabolism and developmental biology."

Lauder and Whited seek to understand the molecular and metabolic changes that occur during limb regeneration. They are focusing on the salamander species, axolotls, to answer a fundamental question of how much it costs to regrow a limb. The work will help in understanding the biological regulators of limb regeneration and why they work in some species, but not others.
