**Cassandra Extavour** received the New Scholar Award in Aging from the [Ellison Medical Foundation](http://www.ellisonfoundation.org/index.jsp) for proposed work on the effects of aging on the renewal and regeneration of the germline. New Scholars are investigators who are nominated for their outstanding promise in aging research.
