**Charles Davis** and **Elena Kramer** were among authors of a paper published in the *[Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences](http://www.pnas.org/content/early/2013/10/24/1310356110.full.pdf%20html?sid=52040391-21c5-4fac-a5c7-e030952bef56)* that solved the nearly 200-year-old mystery of how Rafflesia, the largest flowering plants in the world, develop.
