A new study by **Charles Davis** and colleagues published in [PLoS One](http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0053788), plots 160 years of ecological change revealing record-breaking spring temperatures in 2010 and 2012 resulted in earliest flowering times in the eastern United States in recorded history.
