Michael Desai's research sheds light on the dynamics of adaptation in determining which mutations fix in a population, and hence how reproducible evolution will be. He co-authored a paper which was published in [*Nature* ](http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v500/n7464/full/nature12344.html?WT.ec_id=NATURE-20130829)on July 21, 2013.
