#  PhD Students, Min Ya and Danny Haelewaters Awarded The Les Mehrhoff Botanical Research Fund

Congratulations to **Min Ya** (Kramer Lab) and **Danny Haelewaters** (Pfister Lab) recipients of the [2017 Les Mehrhoff Botanical Research Fund](http://www.rhodora.org/awards/mehrhoff.html)! The Fund, established by the New England Botanical Club in memory of renowned botanist, Dr. Leslie J. Mehrhoff supports botanical endeavors of the sort that Les championed: field studies, herbarium, library, and archival research. Ya and Haelewaters were awarded for thier independent projects: Min Ya, "Unveiling the Karyotypes of New England *Utricularia Spcies*", and Danny Haelewaters, "A survey of *Russula* species (Fungi, Basisiomycota, Agaricomycetes) at the Boston Harbor Islands National Park area, Massachusetts."
