Postdoc **Heidi Fisher** and **Hopi Hoekstra** report in a study in [Nature](http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v463/n7282/full/nature08736.html) that sperm can recognize and preferentially cooperate with its closest relatives when driven by competition.
