The Plant Biology Initiative (PBI) at Harvard University is composed of a wide range of plant biologists, primarily situated in the [Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology](https://prod-oeb.drupalsites.harvard.edu/) and the research programs of the [Arnold Arboretum](http://www.arboretum.harvard.edu/) and the [Harvard Forest](http://harvardforest.fas.harvard.edu/). The PBI program takes full advantage of the exceptional resources of Harvard University, which include ~5,000,000 preserved specimens of the [Harvard University Herbaria](http://huh.harvard.edu/) (HUH), the [Botanical Libraries](http://huh.harvard.edu/libraries) of the HUH, the living collections of the [Arnold Arboretum](http://arboretum.harvard.edu/collections/), the 3500 acre [Harvard Forest](http://harvardforest.fas.harvard.edu/site-and-facilities), and the resources and expertise of the [FAS Center for Systems Biology](http://sysbio.harvard.edu/home).
